Artem Andrijowitsch Pryma ( Ukrainian Артем Андрійович Прима ; born May 30, 1987 in Chernihiw , Ukrainian SSR , USSR ) is a Ukrainian biathlete .

Career

Artem Pryma took part in the Junior European Championships for the first time in Langdorf in 2006 and achieved his best result with 29th place in the pursuit. The 2007 Junior World Championships in Martell were more successful with fifth places in the relay competition and sprint and 20th place in the pursuit. At the European Junior Championships in Bansko , he won the bronze medal with the Ukrainian relay and was also 22nd in the individual. Also in 2008 in Nové Město na Moravě he won the relay bronze, was 16th in the sprint and 15th in the pursuit.

In 2009 Pryma narrowly missed a medal at the 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa with the relay finishing fourth, and he was fifth in the individual, 35th in the sprint and 25th in the pursuit. The Ukrainian has been competing in the IBU Cup since the 2009/10 season . After he initially achieved lower places, Pryma was able to win first points in Ridnaun as 36th of a sprint, in 2010 he was 26th in Altenberg . Only a little later he made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding . With the relay, to which his brother Roman Pryma also belonged, he reached the 12th place, in the sprint the 41st place. He missed his first World Cup point by just one place. He won the first points a little later as the 25th of the individual at his first participation in the 2011 Biathlon World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk . At the next World Championship in Ruhpolding, Pryma was already used in four races, the best results were a 24th place in the individual and eighth place in the relay. The Ukrainian achieved his best result so far in the World Cup in January 2014 in Oberhof , where he finished fifth in the sprint for the first time in the top ten.
