Fay Potton (born April 18, 1976 ) is a former British biathlete .

Life

Fay Potton came in the 2006/07 season in the Biathlon European Cup at. The soldier contested her first race in Obertilliach and was 62nd in a sprint. She achieved her best career result in the racing series in her first season in Ridnaun , where she was 19th in a sprint. It was also her best result in the racing series.

Nationally, Potton had greater success than internationally. In 2003 and 2005 she was third in the mass start at the British Championships, in 2006 Potton won silver in the sprint and mass start, in 2007 she won the individual and sprint titles. After the season, she initially wanted to end her international career for professional reasons, but returned to the British national team after a year and was mainly used in the IBU Cup. In 2010 she made her debut in a relay race in the World Cup , in which the British woman finished 20th with Amanda Lightfoot , Adele Walker and Olwen Thorn as the final skier.

The first career highlight was the 2011 World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk , where Potton was 85th of the individual, 89th of the sprint and with Lightfoot, Walker and Nerys Jones 19th of the relay competition. At the national championships she won her third title with the individual. Later in the year she took part in the 2011 Summer Biathlon World Championships in Nové Město na Moravě , where she was lapped 33rd in the sprint and in the pursuit race.

The last international championships were the 2012 World Championships in Ruhpolding , where Potton was 106th in the singles and with Lightfoot, Jones and Walker again as the last runner of the season 22nd. Since four more seasons could be removed, it was one of the best international results for British women to date.
