Karl Ludwig Truchseß von Waldburg
Karl Ludwig Truchseß von Waldburg (* 1685 in Königsberg in Prussia ; † April 22, 1738 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general, chamberlain of King Friedrich I, and governor of Insterburg and land marshal of Prussia .
He was the son of Wolf Christoph Erbtruchseß Graf zu Waldburg (1643–1688) and Luise Katharina von Rautter widowed de Chiese (also de la Chièze) († June 4, 1703).
Life
On March 15, 1713 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and on October 10, 1715 to colonel. On August 25, 1725, he was appointed major general and commander of the 11th regiment.
In 1722 he was on a diplomatic mission with the King of France in Reims and in 1723 with the Emperor in Prague, there to congratulate the coronation. In 1723 he was also Provost of Havelberg Cathedral . An honor that he passed on to the privy councilor Samuel Ludwig von Lüderitz on December 19, 1725 .
In 1731 he became chief of the Cuirassier Regiment No. 11, in 1731 and in 1737 he was again on a diplomatic mission in Dresden. He is said to have spoken French very well, which was useful for his diplomatic missions.

He was married to Sophie Charlotte von Wylich and Lottum (1694–1771), daughter of Philipp Karl von Wylich and Lottum .
