Wolfgang Christoph Graf Truchsess von Waldburg (born February 11, 1643 , † January 26, 1688 in Pillau ) was a major general in Brandenburg .

Wolfgang Christoph was born as the son of Johann Albrecht Graf Truchsess von Waldburg (Mr. zu Friedrichstein and Barten ; † 1655) and Anna Sibylle von Packmohr († 1652). His brother Count Joachim Heinrich Truchsess von Waldburg (* April 23, 1649, † October 14, 1718) was an officer in Brandenburg ( Lieutenant General ).

As early as 1663, Wolfgang Christoph served as lieutenant colonel in Brandenburg under Duke August von Holstein-Plön (1635–1699) in the Turkish Wars . In 1683 he was a colonel and leader of a Brandenburg auxiliary corps against the Turks. With 1000 men on foot and 200 dragoons , he and Hans Albrecht von Barfus helped to conquer the Gran fortress, among other things . In February 1684 he returned to Prussia. In March he was again leader of an aid corps. The colonels Karl Ernst Graf zu Dohna and Prince Alexander von Courland served under him . On June 20, 1684, Count Truchsess von Waldburg was promoted to major general and got the post of governor of the fortress Pillau . He was to remain in this important post in 1686 when he asked the Great Elector to go back into the field against the Turks. In the same year he was raised to the rank of imperial count . He died in Pillau in 1688.
