Vyacheslav Anatoljewitsch Akimow ( Russian Вячеслав Анатольевич Акимов ; English transcription Viacheslav Akimov ; born April 27, 1990 in Cheboksary , Chuvash ASSR , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a former Russian biathlete .

Vyacheslav Akimov is a student and lives in Cheboksary. He is trained by Anatoly Akimov. He started biathlon in 2003 and has been a member of the Russian national team since 2010. The 2010 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Torsby became his first international championships. He finished 19th in the sprint and 17th in the pursuit. This was followed by the 2010 European Biathlon Championships in Otepää , where Akimow started in the junior singles and was 42nd with ten mistakes. In 2011 the next Junior World Championships followed in Nové Město na Moravě . In the Czech Republic, the Russian came 12th in the individual, 11th in the sprint and sixth in the pursuit. The European Championships followed again, in 2011 in Ridnaun . First he was used in the junior races. In the individual he missed a medal in fourth place against Ivan Kryukov . He won the sprint and pursuit titles and was appointed to the men's senior team for the relay. With Nikolai Jakuschow , Timofei Lapschin and Viktor Wassiljew he won the silver medal behind the German representation.

On June 11, 2015, he married the biathlete Tatyana Andreevna Semyonova , who has since started as Tatyana Akimova .

In May 2018, he announced his retirement from active sports.
