Simone Kupfner (born February 1, 1996 ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

Career

Simone Kupfner lives in Kufstein and started for WSV Schwoich .

Kupfner made her international debut at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2013 in Obertilliach , where she achieved her best result in 13th place in the individual pursuit race after finishing 35th. In 2014 Presque Isle she improved again after 24th place in the sprint in the pursuit race and was 12. With Julia Schwaiger and Susanna Kurzthaler , she also won the bronze medal in the relay race. Shortly before, Kupfner also took part in the junior races of the 2014 European Biathlon Championships in Nové Město na Moravě , where she finished 28th in the individual, 18 in the sprint, 15 in the pursuit and five in the relay. In the further course of the season she came in Tyumen at the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2014 in sixth place in the sprint and 17th in the pursuit of the junior races. In 2011 and 2012 she won six titles at national junior championships.

In 2014 , Kupfner made her international debut among women in the IBU Cup . In Obertilliach she immediately won first points as the 27th of an individual and was seventh in the mixed relay race with Christina Rieder , Tobias Eberhard and Friedrich Pinter . At the beginning of 2015 , Kupfner came to Oberhof for her first appearance in the Biathlon World Cup . With Lisa Hauser , Dunja Zdouc and Katharina Innerhofer , she immediately achieved a top ten position as the final runner in the relay race in eighth place. This was followed by several deployments in relay races, including at the 2015 Biathlon World Championships in Kontiolahti , Finland , where the Austrian women's relay took eleventh place.

In 2014, Kupfner was nationally runner-up in the relay race with Magdalena Fankhauser and Susanna Kurzthaler, representing Tyrol .

Kupfner ended her career in April 2020.
