Friedrich "Fritz" Pinter (born February 22, 1978 in Villach , Carinthia ) is a former Austrian biathlete .

The regular soldier of the Austrian Armed Forces starts for the Union Rosenbach cross-country club and is the brother of cross-country skier Jürgen Pinter . He started cross-country skiing at the age of 13 and attended the ski trade school in Schladming in Styria . In 1993 he was accepted into the squad of the Austrian Ski Association . In the 2000/01 season he switched from special cross-country skiing to biathlon.

The Carinthian celebrated his greatest success at the Biathlon World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen . There he won the bronze medal in the relay competition together with Daniel Mesotitsch , Wolfgang Rottmann and Christoph Sumann . At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 , he finished 26th over 20 km, in the relay competition he came in 17th place with his teammates. His best World Cup placements reached Pinter in the 2007/08 season with second place in the pursuit in Oslo and third places in the sprints in Oslo and Pyeongchang .
