Jürgen Pinter (born March 30, 1979 in Villach , Carinthia ) is an Austrian cross-country skier .

Life

Born in Villacher, he currently lives in Latschach . His current job is a regular soldier in the Austrian Armed Forces. Jürgen Pinter has been in the ÖSV team since 1998. He is the brother of Austria's biathlete Friedrich Pinter . Pinters Ski is Atomic , the club is Union Rosenbach. In addition to Fritz, he has two other siblings who are also speculating with a biathlon or cross-country skiing career.

In April 2007, Pinter, his cross-country skiing colleagues Johannes Eder , Martin Tauber and Roland Diethart as well as two Austrian biathletes were banned from the Olympic Games for life by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). In the opinion of the IOC, all were considered convicted of having jointly used doping substances. Reason for the severe penalty: "These cases go beyond the simple possession of prohibited substances and methods, and are clear example cases in which a network, including athletes, joined forces to manipulate blood and engage in doping practices."
