Christina Rieder (born December 29, 1993 in Leogang ) is an Austrian biathlete .

Career

Christina Rieder contested her first international races at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Torsby and was 45th in the individual and 54th in the sprint. A year later she finished in Nové Město na Moravě in 24th in the individual, 17 in the sprint, 19 in the pursuit and ninth with the relay. In 2012 in Kontiolahti she was 13th in the individual, 35th in the sprint, 33rd in the pursuit and won the bronze medal in the relay race with Julia Reisinger and Lisa Hauser. With this she and her colleagues achieved one of the greatest successes of Austrian female biathletes. Shortly before, Rieder took part in the junior races of the European Championships for the first time in Osrblie and came in 15th in the sprint and 12th in the pursuit race and just missed a medal with Hauser, Alexander Jakob and Peter Brunner in fourth place. In 2013 Rieder started for the fourth time at the Junior World Championships and was in Obertilliach 21st in the individual, 57th in the sprint, 39th in the pursuit and eighth with the relay with Fabienne Hartweger and Lisa Hauser.

Rieder competed in her first women's race in 2011 in the IBU Cup in Obertilliach and was eleventh in a mixed relay race alongside Katharina Innerhofer , Albert Herzog and Bernhard Leitinger and won points in the first individual race as the 29th of a sprint. In 2012, in Ridnaun , she achieved her best result so far , finishing 20th in a sprint. In 2012 she made her debut in the World Cup in Antholz and was season 15 with Romana Schrempf , Iris Schwabl and Katharina Innerhofer.

After Rieder had landed in the bottom of the overall World Cup, she was able to climb to 48th place in the 2019/20 season .

Rieder won the national title at the Austrian championships in 2009 with Sabrina Schnedl and Nina Gruber representing the state of Salzburg . In 2013 she won the bronze medal with Innerhofer and Schnedl.
