Artem Olexandrowitsch Tyschtschenko ( Ukrainian Артем Тищенко , also English Artem Tyshchenko ; born December 22, 1993 in Schowtnewe , Sumy Oblast , Ukraine ) is a Ukrainian biathlete .

Career

Artem Tyschtschenko first appeared internationally at the Biathlon Junior World Championships 2012 in Kontiolahti and was able to win the bronze medal in the individual and in the sprint. In the following year, his best place at the Junior World Championships was 5th place with the relay, while he reached a 12th (sprint), a 17th (pursuit) and a 19th place (individual) in the individual disciplines. At the Biathlon Junior European Championships 2013 in Bansko , he also won the bronze medal with the mixed relay.

Tyschtschenko contested his first race in the Biathlon World Cup in 2014 in Antholz , where he finished 90th in a sprint. At the start of the 2014/15 season he won World Cup points for the first time in an individual in Östersund as 37th. In the further course of the season he reached a first top ten placement in Oberhof in tenth place.

In February 2016 he was suspended after a positive doping test . The substance meldonium , which has been on the WADA doping list since January 1, 2016, was detected in him.
