Belorezk ( Russian Белоре́цк , Bashkir Белорет / Beloret ) is a city in the Republic of Bashkortostan ( Russia ) with 68,806 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The city is located in the southern Urals , about 250 km southeast of the republic capital Ufa on the Belaja , a left tributary of the Kama .
Belorezk is the administrative center of the raion of the same name .
history
The place was established in 1762 as a settlement at the Belorezki Sawod ironworks founded by the merchant Ivan Tverdyschew and received city rights in 1923 under its current name.
