Anne Preußler started for SSV Altenberg . As a trainee customs inspector, she is a civil servant in the higher non-technical service of the Federal Customs Administration in the area of the Central Finance Directorate and was a member of the Customs Ski Team. Preussler was already very successful as a junior. Between 2002 and 2005 she won medals at four World Junior Championships in a row. In 2002 she won the relay bronze in Ridnaun and just barely missed her first individual medal as fourth in the pursuit. A year later she won silver with the relay in Kościelisko . In 2004 Preußler won her first junior European title with the relay in Haute-Maurienne . She was even more successful in 2005 in Kontiolahti , where she won the silver medal in the relay and the individual title. She played the only World Cup without a medal in Presque Isle in 2006 , but still had two results in the top ten.

Until 2007 Preussler competed mainly in junior races and won five races in the Junior European Cup. Anne has been competing in the European Cup since 2007. In Forni Avoltri and at the beginning of the 2007/08 season in Geilo and Obertilliach , she was able to win races as part of the European Cup. Towards the end of the 2007/08 World Cup season , she was able to automatically qualify for the Biathlon World Cup as third overall in the European Cup . In her first race, a sprint, she missed her first World Cup points by seven places in 37th place, but qualified for the pursuit race in which she was 45th. In November 2008 she qualified for the World Cup team of the German Ski Association in the final training camp before the season in Munio, Finland. At the beginning of the season, Preußler was used in Östersund and won first World Cup points in 24th place. In Hochfilzen , she also achieved her best World Cup result so far with a placement one rank better in an individual. At the 2009 European Biathlon Championships in Ufa , she won silver in the singles and bronze with the German relay. The 2009/10 season marked a step backwards in Preussler's career. She was not used in the World Cup, in the IBU Cup she was only able to finish in the top ten twice in 12 races and was therefore usually worse than most of the other German runners. In February 2011 Preussler announced her retirement from competitive sports.
