Stefan Read (born May 7, 1987 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a former Canadian ski jumper .

Career

Read won the North American Juniors on March 2, 2004. In the 2005/2006 season he was able to qualify in many competitions in the World Cup and also made it into the second round several times. His best result was a 23rd place in jumping on January 28, 2006 in Zakopane, Poland . Read took part in the Winter Olympics in Turin 2006 and finished 30th on the large hill. At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , he was eliminated in qualifying on the normal hill as 47th. He took 46th place on the large hill and reached 12th place in the team competition. After the Winter Games, he ended his active ski jumping career.

His uncle Ken Read is a well-known downhill skier and his father Ron Read is the head of the Canadian Ski Jumping Association.
