Stefano Chiapolino (born July 6, 1985 in Gemona del Friuli ) is a former Italian ski jumper .

Career

Chiapolino completed his first international jumping on February 9, 2002 in Gallo as part of the Continental Cup . He finished jumping in 30th place. Shortly afterwards he won his first Italian championship title.

In the Junior World Championship 2003 in Sweden Sollefteå he jumped in jumping on the normal hill to 5th place and reached with the team to 8th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme , which took place two weeks later , he was able to achieve 44th place in the individual on the normal hill and 10th place in the team competition together with Marco Beltrame , Giancarlo Adami and Roberto Cecon .

After the World Cup he was admitted to the A-national team and jumped on 8 March 2003, his first World Cup Team Jumping in the Norwegian Oslo . Together with Adami, Cecon and Alessio Bolognani reached the 8th place. In the individual competition Chiapolino was used for the first time on November 30, 2003 in Kuusamo , but could not convince there with 61st place. That is why he only stayed in the permanent Continental Cup squad. At the Ski Flying World Championships 2004 in Planica he came in 40th place on February 21, 2004. In the same year he won his second Italian championship at the National Championships in Predazzo . In February 2005 he was in the World Cup line- up in Pragelato and was able to win World Cup points for the only time in his career with 20th place on the large hill. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf he reached 15th place on the normal hill with the team and 47th place in the individual. On the large hill, he and the team also did not make it into the second round and ended up twelfth. In the individual, he jumped to 49th place. It was the last international tournament of his career. He jumped two years unsuccessfully in the Continental Cup before he ended his active ski jumping career on February 4, 2007 in Pragelato after a 56th place.
