Jon Aaraas (born March 10, 1986 in Oslo ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper .

Career

Aaraas jumped for the Norwegian club Ready / Kollenhopp. In the ski jumping Continental Cup he started for the first time in the 2002/03 season on the Toni-Seelos-Olympiaschanze in Seefeld in Tirol , where he finished 14th. His first season he finished in 158th place overall. In his third season he was able to secure 10th place in the overall standings, his greatest success. He made his World Cup debut on February 5, 2005 in Sapporo, Japan . On January 27, 2008 he was able to achieve his best World Cup placement with a 19th place in Zakopane , in the end he achieved his best overall World Cup result with 51st place. In the summer of 2009 he achieved the best summer Grand Prix result of his career with an eleventh place in Hakuba . In the 2009/10 season and the 2010/11 season he only started in the Continental Cup. His missions became increasingly rare. In 2010 he took part in four competitions ( Iron Mountain , 1 competition, Kranj , 2 and Oslo , 1), in 2011 only in Vikersund , where he finished in 15th and 33rd place. In 2011 he announced that he would end his career.
