Marc Stein (historian)

Marc Stein is an American historian and associate professor at York University in Toronto . After graduating from Wesleyan University with a bachelor's degree in history in 1985 , he worked as the editor of Gay Community News in Boston . From 1989 to 1994 he studied at the University of Pennsylvania and received a Ph.D.

Stein himself describes his research focus on his homepage as the history of sex, gender, and sexuality and their interrelationships with American social history and jurisprudence. Stein has also presented several publications in this area, in particular on the development of the case law of the US Supreme Court .
