Andreas Arén (born November 28, 1985 in Falun ) is a former Swedish ski jumper .

Career

His home club is Holmes IF. A serious knee injury with two subsequent operations in 2004 set him back. It was not until the 2006/07 season that he achieved his first World Cup points with a 17th place in Kuusamo , which was followed by more at the following competitions in Lillehammer . In 2008 he became the first Swedish champion on the normal hill. In 2009 he was able to repeat this success and also won the gold medal on the large hill. Shortly afterwards he reached the 49th place on the normal hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec . On August 11, 2009, he announced that he would end his ski jumping career. He cited a lack of money and performance as well as a loss of motivation as reasons for his sudden exit.
