Grimholms World Cup debut took place on December 8, 2002 in Trondheim , where he finished 46th. He took part in the ski flying world championships on Kulm in 2005 , but was 47th unable to qualify for the competition. His greatest success besides four Swedish individual championships was the 1st place at the COC jumping in Iron Mountain on February 17th, 2007. One day later he finished 2nd on the same hill. On March 23, 2007 he was able to win his only points in the World Cup as 27th while ski flying on the then largest hill in the world in Planica. In 2008 he again took part in the ski flying world championships in Oberstdorf , but could not qualify with 41st place like the other three Swedish jumpers. In 2010 he was 31st of the qualification at the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica . Overall, he made it into the 50 best jumpers in the World Cup 15 times. At 207.5 m he is the Swedish record holder in ski flying.
Grimholm ended his active ski jumping career on an international level after the 2010/2011 season , but still occasionally competes in national competitions in Sweden.

Grimholm is a mechanical engineer and lives in Umeå . In addition to his native Swedish, he also speaks English and German.
