Career

Baxter started at the Junior World Championships 2002 in Schonach for the first time in an international competition. He then took part in the Continental Cups (COC) and other Junior World Championships for several years with moderate success . In the summer of 2005 he qualified for several classes in the Summer Grand Prix , but was never able to reach the second round there. In the winter of 2005/06 he tried several times in vain to qualify for World Cup jumping . On January 29, 2006, however, he succeeded for the first time in Zakopane the qualification and he finished 44th place in the competition. A week later, he achieved his best result at the Junior World Championships with tenth place in Kranj . He then entered the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , where he failed in the two individual competitions in the qualification round. The Canadian team he belonged to finished in 15th place. In the summer of 2006 he competed in both the COC and the Grand Prix. In the winter of 2006/07 he started at several Continental Cups, where he mostly fought for a place in the second round. In February 2007 he took part in the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo , where he took 42nd place on the large hill and was 12th with the team. At the Summer Grand Prix 2007 he was able to collect points in a first-class series of jumps for the first time with two 16th places in Hakuba . In the winter of 2007/08 he returned to the COC, with a 15th place being his best result of the season. After failing to qualify for several Grand Prix competitions in August 2008, he had a traffic accident with an off-road vehicle in September 2008, in which his ankle was badly injured. Because of the accident, he then had to end his career.
