The Reit-im-Winkl-Schanzen are a ski jumping facility in the Upper Bavarian town of Reit im Winkl consisting of the Franz-Haslberger-Schanze (K 90) and the Steinbachschanzen (K 57, K 30, K 18) covered with plastic matting.

history

The winter sports club Reit im Winkl eV was founded in 1921. In the years 1923/24 Bruno Biehler built the first Steinbach-Schanze, the predecessor of today's Franz-Haslberger-Schanze. In the 30s came the heyday of ski jumper Franz Haslberger . He was a member of the German national team, was an Olympic participant and was the first Reit im Winkler to achieve the title of German ski jumping champion . The Steinbachschanze was named after him in 1939 after it had been enlarged to 60 meters.

In 1982 the K57 Steinbach plastic covered hill was expanded and opened with an international competition.

These international competitions were expanded into major World Cup events. So far over 40 World Cup events have taken place in cross-country skiing and Nordic combined.

The traditional Franz-Haslberger-Schanze was expanded into a classic K90 normal hill in 1990. However, due to an unusual lack of snow , the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships at the beginning of March 1991 could only be pulled through with the greatest effort of the helpers. For this purpose, the hill, which was still under construction, was certified as a temporary K86 until the work was completed in 1995. In 1992 the two small plastic covered hills were modernized. From 1993 competitions were held as part of the Löwenbräu Cup . Until 2004, Reit im Winkl was the venue for the Warsteiner Grand Prix of Germany .
