He won gold with the team at both the 2009 Junior World Championship in Štrbské Pleso and the 2010 Junior World Championship in Hinterzarten , Germany. At his first two World Cup starts in Innsbruck and Bischofshofen in 2009 , he did not get beyond the qualification. He completed his first successful World Cup appearance on February 6, 2010, when he scored his first World Cup points with rank 26 in Willingen . The next day he and the team reached 3rd place.
After an illness, Schabereiter announced his resignation in October 2012.
Schabereiter initially worked as a service technician for the ÖSV ski jumpers before he was promoted to assistant trainer in 2013.
