Mario Innauer (born January 10, 1990 in Graz , Styria ) is a former Austrian ski jumper and son of Olympic champion Toni Innauer .

Career

Mario Innauer made his debut on January 4th, 2007 on his "home facility", the Bergisel in the World Cup , where he was 16th and was able to collect World Cup points straight away. On January 7th, 2007 he was 15th in Bischofshofen . His best World Cup result was achieved on February 4th, 2007 in Titisee-Neustadt , where he jumped fifth.

At the Junior World Championships in 2008 he fell in the second round at the maximum width, where he tore a muscle fiber and had to pause for a few weeks. In the 2007/08 World Cup season , he was only used in the two competitions in Bischofshofen, in which he finished in 20th and 24th place. Also this season he achieved his first win at the Continental Cup in Rovaniemi .

As part of the so-called Bergisel jumping (Innsbruck) of the Four Hills Tournament 2009/10 , Mario Innauer made his World Cup comeback after two years with a 10th place. In the final competition of the Four Hills Tournament in Bischofshofen , Innauer finished 15th.

Mario Innauer jumped for SV Innsbruck-Bergisel . He lives in Thaur . In March 2011, he suffered a torn cruciate ligament and collateral ligament in his right knee as well as meniscus injuries in both knees when he fell during the trial training for the Continental Cup in Wisła .

At the Four Hills Tournament 2011/12 he finished 57th in jumping in Bischofshofen, which was 68th place overall. In the 2011/12 Continental Cup he was only able to collect 34 points. He had to skip the 2012/13 season because of a bone contusion and a patellar tendinitis. These were the consequences of his fall in Wisła. He only started at two FIS Cup competitions in Winterberg .

In May 2013, he announced his retirement due to persistent injury problems.
