The Ski Jumping World Cup 2007/08 (official sponsor name : e-on Ruhrgas FIS Ski Jumping World Cup 2007/08 ) was a series of competitions held by the FIS World Ski Association between November 30, 2007 and March 16, 2008 at 20 different locations in Europe and Asia Ski jumping . The original plan was to hold 28 individual and four team competitions. One of the team and six of the individual competitions had to be canceled or abandoned. While five individual competitions could be made up, the team and one of the individual competitions had to be left without replacement, so that 27 individual and three team competitions were included in the rating. The Austrian Thomas Morgenstern won the overall standings, followed by his compatriot Gregor Schlierenzauer and the Finn Janne Ahonen in second and third place . The defending champion Adam Małysz from Poland took twelfth place. Austria won the Nations Cup for the fourth time in a row with a record number of 6734 points , ahead of the teams from Norway and Finland .

Changes to the regulations

The number of pre-qualified jumpers will be reduced from 15 to ten. As the winner of the qualification , the best non-prequalified jumper receives a blue jersey that he wears for the duration of the competition and prize money of 2000 euros. At the same time, the number of maximum starting places per nation was reduced from eight to seven by eliminating the additional starting place for the World Cup leader outside the national quota. In addition, a minimum age of 18 years has been introduced for pre-jumpers in ski flying competitions. The guidelines for the judges have been changed so that, among other things, more points are deducted in the event of falls. The office of assistant to the technical delegate is now carried out alternately by four semi-professional officials. These arrive several days before the start of the competition and are intended to support the organizer in preparing the hill.

The specifications for jump suits have been changed, they now have to have a fixed collar and slightly shortened sleeves. At the Four Hills Tournament , the leader in the overall standings wears a yellow jersey for the first time this season.
