Martin Cikl starts for the Dukla Liberec association . He made his international debut in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup on March 3, 2007 at the event in Trondheim . He finished 37th. At the competition in Velenje , Slovenia , he took third place for the first time in the top ten in a competition in the Continental Cup. On March 2, 2008 he was able to win the continental jumping in Whistler , Canada . He repeated this success on January 3, 2009 in Braunlage . In the 2007 summer season, Martin Cikl also took part in Grand Prix competitions. On August 11, 2007 Cikl finished third with the Czech team at the team competition in Hinterzarten . He achieved his best individual results in the Grand Prix with tenth place on September 9, 2007 in Hakuba and on August 9, 2009 in Hinterzarten. On December 13, 2007 he was able to achieve his first World Cup points in Villach with 21st place. Ten days later he jumped to ninth place in Engelberg and thus achieved his best result so far in a World Cup competition.
At the Czech Championships on September 3, 2011 in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm , he finished third. In June 2016 he announced the end of his career.
