Marcin Bachleda (born September 4, 1982 in Zakopane ) is a former Polish ski jumper and today's ski jumping trainer.

Career

Bachleda, who has been skiing since he was 11, was accepted into the national team in 1999. He made his international debut at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein . Bachleda, trained by Stanisław Murzyniak at the time , reached 49th place on the large hill. On February 4, 2001, he made his debut in the ski jumping World Cup in Willingen . There he could not achieve any top placements and thus continued to compete in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup , in which Bachleda had competed since 1999. On November 30, 2002 he achieved his best World Cup result to date with eleventh place in the jumping in Kuusamo . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2003 in Val di Fiemme , Bachleda jumped to 36th place on the normal hill and 27th place on the large hill. In team jumping he reached 7th place together with Robert Mateja , Tomisław Tajner and Adam Małysz . On July 20, 2003, he was able to win a Continental Cup jumping competition for the first time in Calgary . A week later he repeated this success at the Utah Olympic Park Jumps in Park City . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf in 2005 , he reached 30th place on the normal and 47th place on the large hill. In the team competition on the normal hill he was sixth with the team, and ninth on the large hill. He was able to successfully end the 2005/06 season in the Continental Cup and, after several individual victories and second places, won the overall standings in the summer. In winter he reached the 33rd place. On October 13, 2007 he was Polish runner-up in the individual. After this success, he was reassigned to the World Cup team in December and started again in the World Cup on December 8, 2007. It wasn't until February 2008 that he was able to win World Cup points again and ended up in 26th place in Sapporo . After failing to qualify several times at the beginning of the 2008/09 World Cup season , he started again firmly in the Continental Cup from February 2009. On February 20, 2009 he celebrated his greatest international success with the silver medal on the normal hill at the Winter Universiade 2009 in Yabuli, China .

At the beginning of the 2009/10 World Cup season, after a missed second round in Kuusamo , I scored again in Lillehammer . After that it was mixed for Bachleda, so that at the end of December he started in Engelberg in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup instead of traveling to the Four Hills Tournament 2009/10 . At the Ski Flying World Cup on Kulm in January, after a good 14th place in the qualification, he could not prevail in the competition and was 30 and 34. In Sapporo he managed to gain points again a short time later, before he was unsuccessful until the end of the season stayed. Then he switched back to the Continental Cup in February and jumped there from the start. In Kuusamo at the end of the season he narrowly missed the podium with fourth place.

In the summer of 2010, too, he made it into the top ten several times. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he got a place in the World Cup squad again due to this good performance. At the Team World Cup in Kuusamo he finished fifth with the team before he had to retire again after round one in the individual competition. On December 18, 2010, he achieved the only World Cup points win of the season in Engelberg. At the end of January 2011, he then moved back to the Continental Cup. There he remained unsuccessful until the end of the season. Although he mostly won points, he did not end up in the top places. He also remained in the B-team for the 2011/12 season . He only started at the World Cup show jumping in Zakopane in January 2012, but did not get beyond the first round again.

After struggling with his performances at the end of the 2011/12 season and also in the summer of 2012, he did not get a starting place in the national team for the 2012/13 season. He was only nominated for the Continental Cup competition in Zakopane on January 5th and 6th, 2013 and achieved an 11th and a 54th place.

Bachleda is married and has one son.
