Career

Ski jumping career

In the 2006/07 season Morassi was able to come up with some successes for the first time. He achieved a sensational result for himself and many others at the World Cup in Oberstdorf on January 28, 2007 , with 3rd place. This was his best career result in the World Cup so far. He finished the overall World Cup in 38th place.

Afterwards (February 3rd / 4th) he took part in the Continental Cup in Pragelato and was able to confirm his good form with a 1st place and a 3rd place. At the Junior World Championships in Tarvisio in March , he achieved a respectable 6th place. In 2006 he was also well ahead and finished third in the Junior World Championships in Kranj .

At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver , Morassi was eliminated in jumping from the normal hill after the first round as 43rd. At the first mixed team competition in World Cup history on November 23, 2012 in Lillehammer , Morassi and the Italian team, which also included Elena Runggaldier , Evelyn Insam and Sebastian Colloredo , came third behind Norway and Japan.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme , Morassi reached 30th place on the normal hill in individual jumping. In the mixed competition on the same hill, he and Elena Runggaldier , Evelyn Insam and Sebastian Colloredo made it to seventh place. In the individual on the large hill he missed the second round with 38th place, but was able to achieve eighth place in the team competition with Roberto Dellasega , Davide Bresadola and Sebastian Colloredo. In individual World Cup after the World Cup in the Finnish Lahti he failed to qualify in singles and also eliminated in the team competition with the team after the first round in ninth place out.

From the 2013/14 season , however, he was no longer able to build on his previous achievements, won no more World Cup points and finally ended his career in 2016.

Morassi started for the sports group of the Corpo Forestale dello Stato ( Gruppo Sportivo Forestale ). Since January 2008 he has been a regular member of this police unit.

Morassi ended his career in early 2016.
