The Ski Jumping World Cup 1987/88 (official name: FIS Ski Jumping World Cup 1987/88 ) was one of the International Ski Federation FIS between 5 December 1987 and 27 March 1988 discharged at 17 different locations in Europe, North America and Asia series of competitions in ski jumping . Originally the implementation of 22 individual competitions was planned. Two competitions had to be canceled without replacement, so that 20 individual competitions were included in the rating. The victory in the overall standings was won for the fourth time this season by the Finn Matti Nykänen , followed by the Czechoslovak Pavel Ploc and the Yugoslav Primož Ulaga in second and third place . The Norwegian defending champion Vegard Opaas finished twelfth. Finland won the Nations Cup ahead of Czechoslovakia and Norway, who won last year .
