Jiří Parma (born January 9, 1963 in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm ) is a former Czech ski jumper .

Career

On December 30, 1980, Parma made its debut in the ski jumping World Cup . In Oberstdorf he reached the 99th place. At the Ski Flying World Championships 1983 in Harrachov Parma flew to 6th place. On December 18, 1983, he jumped on the podium for the first time from the large hill in Lake Placid and came third on the large hill. On January 14, 1984, he was able to win his first World Cup jumping in Harrachov. At the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , he jumped from the normal hill with jumps of 81.0 and 88.5 m to 10th place. From the large hill he reached 23rd place with jumps on 100.0 and 94.0 m. At the parallel Nordic World Ski Championships in Engelberg in 1984 , in which only the team competitions took place, since the individual competitions were part of the program of the Olympic Games, he and the team won the bronze medal.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 , Parma was world champion on the normal hill. He finished the 1987/88 World Cup season in 4th place in the overall World Cup ranking. It was his most successful season in the World Cup. In the following years he won several medals with the Czechoslovak team: bronze at the 1992 Olympic Games and the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1989 , silver at the 1993 Nordic World Ski Championships . Since the end of his career, Parma has been working as a jumping judge.
