Heinz Kuttin (born January 5, 1971 in Gassen , Carinthia ) is a former Austrian ski jumper . From April 2014 to April 2018 he was the coach of the Austrian national ski jumping team and is a member of SV Villach .

Career

Kuttin already reached eighth place when he made his World Cup debut in 1987 at the age of 16. Shortly thereafter, in 1988, he won his first junior world championship title in the team (February 4) and in the individual (February 7). His five titles at Junior World Championships are still unmatched. His career highlight followed in 1991 with the double world championship title in Predazzo, shortly afterwards he also won his first world cup competition in Trondheim . His career was repeatedly impaired by injuries, so he ended his active career in 1995 and ran the Nordic ski center - the Villacher Alpenarena  - in Villach until mid-2002 . In the 2002/03 season he was co-trainer with Stefan Horngacher in the Austrian national team under head coach Hannu Lepistö . From spring 2003 he was the main coach of the Polish B-team. Between 2004 and 2006, Kuttin coached the Polish national team.

Until the 2013/2014 season he worked as a base coach in Villach for the ÖSV . On April 11, 2014, he succeeded Alexander Pointner as Austrian head coach. On April 3, 2018, he announced his resignation. For the 2018/19 season he took over as coach of the Chinese women's national team with the long-term goal of preparing for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing . In March 2020, however, he announced his resignation from the Chinese team and became head coach of the French men's national team in early May of the same year. Shortly afterwards, however, Kuttin withdrew his acceptance. A few days later it became public that he was going to be the jumping coach of the German combined athletes.
