For this he received - together with his teammates - the silver laurel leaf.
His greatest individual success was winning the jumping in Oberstdorf at the Four Hills Tournament 1992/93 . At the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica in 1994 he jumped over 200 m for the first time. Officially, however, the range was not recognized because he could not stand the flight.
At the beginning of the 1998/99 season , Duffner could no longer build on his old successes and intended to retire from professional ski jumping after several competitions in which he was eliminated after the first round. However, on the initiative of national coach Reinhard Heß, he was included in the squad for the Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau in 1999 . Despite his fall in the second round, he and the team together with Dieter Thoma, Sven Hannawald and Martin Schmitt came in first ahead of Japan and Austria. At the beginning of November 2002 Duffner broke his left upper arm in training camp and started the World Cup late. In the 2003/04 season he only jumped in the Continental Cup . On March 22, 2004, Christof Duffner said goodbye to his active career with a flight to 191.5 m as a forerunner at the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica.
Duffner has a twin sister and a younger sister. Christof Duffner has been married since December 2006 and has three girls (triplets). He is a trained toolmaker and was stationed as a sergeant major in the Bundeswehr in the Todtnau am Feldberg sports promotion group. Today Duffner is a teacher for technology and works.
