The German Nordic Ski Championships 1991 took place from January 22nd to 27th in Oberstdorf , Bavaria . It was the first all-German Nordic ski championships since 1941. The ski jumping runs were held in the ski jumping stadium on the Schattenberg . Following the competitions, the German Ski Association announced the German line-up for the Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy , with champions and runner-ups automatically qualifying.
The championships were overshadowed by the doping discussion, which was intensified by Uwe Bellmann's confession . The GDR head coaches systematically doped their athletes .
