Torald Rein (born October 22, 1968 in Wernigerode ) is a former German cross-country skier .

Career

Rein took part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski until 2001 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti in 1989 , he finished sixth with the relay. In February 1989 he won the GDR ski championships with the relay. He ran his first World Cup race in December 1991 in Silver Star , which he finished classically in 45th place over 10 km. His best placings at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville were 21st place in the 25 km pursuit race and sixth place with the relay. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 1993 , he achieved 38th place over 10 km classic and 32nd place in the 25 km pursuit race. In 1993 and 1995 he was German champion over 30 km freestyle. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer , he achieved 32nd place over 10 km classic. Together with Jochen Behle , Peter Schlickenrieder and Johann Mühlegg , he reached fourth place in the relay. In March 1995 he finished 50th over 30 km classic at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1995 in Thunder Bay . At the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano , he reached 57th place over 30 km classic. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1999 in Ramsau am Dachstein , he came in 40th place over 50 km classic.
