The German Championships in Nordic Combined 2012 took place on Sunday, October 7th, 2012 in Klingenthal , Saxony . The organizer was the German Ski Association , while the organizer was the Ski Association Saxony . Originally, in addition to the Gundersen competition , a team sprint was to be held on the large hill, but the individual competition had to be postponed due to a storm, so the team sprint was canceled.

German champion was Eric Frenzel from WSC Oberwiesenthal , as well as Manuel Faißt from SV Baiersbronn among the juniors . The race director of the championships was Andreas Hille , the national coach was Hermann Weinbuch .

Competition facilities

Large hill of the Vogtlandarena

The jumps were held on the large hill covered with plastic matting in the Vogtland Arena . The hill has its construction point at 125 meters, the hill size is 140 meters. The angle of inclination of the approach is 35 °.

The cross-country skiing took place on the running track at the Vogtlandarena. Three laps of 3800 meters each were run on roller skis. A height difference of 49 meters was covered with a total ascent of 161 meters.

Individual (Gundersen 12 km)

The individual competition took place on October 7, 2012 using the Gundersen method (HS140 / 12 km). 32 German athletes were registered, but three of them were not included in the ranking. In addition, the Poles Tomasz Pochwała and Andrzej Zarycki took part in the competition as guest starters, but are not included in the results list. After the best jump performance, Eric Frenzel was able to maintain his lead of 56 seconds over the best runner Johannes Rydzek and won his second individual championship title.
