Johannes Wasel (born March 14, 1991 ) is a German Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Johannes Wasel completed his first FIS competitions in 2007. On February 6, 2010, he made his debut in the Continental Cup of Nordic Combined in Eisenerz , when he started a Gundersen competition from the normal hill with a subsequent cross-country distance of ten kilometers 32nd place. In the following years he was able to achieve five podium finishes (including three in individual competitions) and twelfth place in the overall standings of the 2012/13 season in this competition series , but he did not succeed in winning.

He made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup on January 8, 2012 in Oberstdorf . His first place in the points came a little more than a year later, on January 23, 2013, in Klingenthal . At the Winter Universiade 2013 , which was held in Predazzo , Italy , he came second in the individual competition. Two years later he won the team competition in Štrbské Pleso, Slovakia, together with Tobias Simon and David Welde , which is the greatest success of his career. He was also tenth in the Gundersen and 13th in the mass start competition. At the same time, these were the last international competitions to which Wasel entered.
