Hroar Stjernen (born February 11, 1961 in Beitstad ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper and today's ski jumping official.

Career

Stjernen took part in international competitions from 1984 to 1989. He achieved his only World Cup victory in 1985 in Bischofshofen . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1987 in Oberstdorf , he won the silver medal with the team and was fourth in the individual competition on the normal hill.

He later worked as the sports director of the Norwegian national ski jumping team. After the team's poor performance at the Four Hills Tournament in 2002, he resigned from his post a few days after coach Ludvik Zajc . Previously, Stjernen had achieved the commitment of Mika Kojonkoski as a coach for the new season, but this was kept secret until the end of the season. Later Stjernen was again under discussion as sports director, but could not prevail against Clas Brede Bråthen . Today he is active as the technical delegate of the FIS in ski jumping competitions.

His son Andreas Stjernen was also active as a ski jumper until 2019.
