Anssi Nieminen (born July 24, 1967 in Jyväskylä ) is a former Finnish ski jumper and today's ski jumping trainer.

Nieminen competed in his first ski jumping world cup on December 30, 1985 . He was able to win World Cup points for the first time with 6th place in Oberstdorf . Only five days later he was on the podium for the first time with 3rd place in jumping in Innsbruck . Despite these positive results, he was removed from the senior national team after the Four Hills Tournament in 1985/86 . On March 4th, 1988 he was used in Lahti as part of the national group and surprisingly made 8th place. However, it took almost two more years before he was permanently accepted into the senior national team. In the first competition of his first season in the senior national team on December 1, 1990 in Lake Placid , he was able to prove his strength again with third place. In Thunder Bay a week later, too , he achieved a surprisingly good result with 4th place. At the end of the World Cup season 1990/91 he reached 25th place in the overall ranking. The following two years were less successful and he could no longer achieve placements in the top ten. Therefore, he ended his active ski jumping career at the end of the 1992/93 World Cup season .

Today Niemininen trains ski jumpers and Nordic combined athletes in his hometown Jyväskylä. Until 2008 he was the personal trainer of Antti Kuisma and Risto Jussilainen, among others .
