Jörg Ritzerfeld (born June 28, 1983 in Suhl ) is a former German ski jumper and sports soldier .
Career
Jörg Ritzerfeld began his sporting activity in childhood as a toboggan runner . He found ski jumping through the Nordic combined , in which he won the national ski games in 1994 before the later World Cup athletes Stephan Hocke and Björn Kircheisen .
Ritzerfeld jumped for the WSV Oberhof 05 . He made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup at the Four Hills Tournament 2000/01 . At the Junior World Championships in 2001 in Karpacz , Poland , he came third with the German team and took twelfth place in the individual competition. In December 2005 he injured his knee while training for the upcoming Four Hills Tournament . At first only a cartilage injury was suspected, but then it turned out that he had torn a cruciate ligament . In January 2006 he had to undergo an operation and was only able to start training again after a break of several months. In the 2006/07 season he was able to take part in the World Cup with more success than ever before. At the Winter Universiade 2009 in Harbin (China) he won the bronze medal in the team competition on the 90 m hill.
As a sports soldier, Ritzerfeld belonged to the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Oberhof . In March 2006 he began a Bachelor's degree in International Management at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences , a course that was adapted to the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences and specially designed for top athletes.
At the Winter Universiade 2009 in Harbin (China) he won the bronze medal in the team competition on the 90 m hill. On January 31, 2011, he completed his last competition as part of the Winter Universiade in Erzurum , Turkey , which he finished with 10th place.
Since the end of his career, he has worked as a manager in the field of sports marketing and sponsoring.
