Joachim Winterlich (born March 17, 1942 in Kurort Oberwiesenthal ) is a German ski jumping trainer and former Nordic combined athlete from the GDR.

Starting from 1965 to 1967 for the SC Traktor Oberwiesenthal , he made it onto the podium in the national GDR championships by reaching third place in the Nordic Combined .

Winterlich, who studied at the German University of Physical Culture and graduated in 1977 (title of his diploma thesis: "Qualification of the junior program of the first support level of the DSLV of the GDR for Nordic combined"), worked as a ski jumping trainer after his own sporting career . He trained Jens Weißflog and was national coach and assistant coach in several countries. He coached Italy at the 1993 World Cup in Falun, coached the teams in the GDR in the 1980s, Switzerland in the second half of the 1990s and Kazakhstan until 2007. However, he did not fulfill his contract there, which ran until 2010, but switched to the Bulgarian Association, where he has been the head coach of the Bulgarian team ever since.

Winterly also contributed to the further development of ski jumping outside of training. He participated in the redesign of the ski jumping facility in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and was the developer of a glass-ceramic inrun that was important for the summer ski jumping competitions. Winterlich also became a technical advisor for ski in-run systems from CeramTec ETEC GmbH.
