Marc Nölke (born April 13, 1973 ) is a former German ski jumper and today's ski jumping trainer and speaker.

Career

Nölke made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on December 29, 1991 . When jumping from the large hill in Oberstdorf , he was 42nd. In his second competition on January 1st, 1992 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , he was able to win his first World Cup points with 13th place. On January 25, 1992 he was able to win World Cup points again in ski flying in Oberstdorf and achieved his highest individual placement in the World Cup with 9th place. With the points gained, he finished the 1991/92 season in 41st place in the overall World Cup ranking. In the overall ski flying World Cup ranking, he finished 16th. As one of the first V-style jumpers, the then 18-year-old qualified as the youngest German Winter Olympian in sports history for the Winter Olympics in Albertville alongside Dieter Thoma , Jens Weißflog , Heiko Hunger and Christof Duffner . During training on the Olympic hill in Courchevel , Nölke had a serious fall and was seriously injured. As a result of the fall, parts of his spleen had to be removed in an emergency operation. After he could not win any World Cup points in the following season, Nölke switched to the Ski Jumping Continental Cup . After he remained there due to consequences of the injuries without great success, he ended his active ski jumping career in 1995. After studying theater, film and television studies, pedagogy and ethnology and training as a communications manager, Nölke initially worked for many years as a sports editor at RTL Television , before becoming assistant coach of the Austrian national ski jumping team in 2006 alongside Alexander Pointner's ski jumpers like Thomas Morgenstern , Andreas Kofler , Wolfgang Loitzl and Gregor Schlierenzauer . Nölke is married to the journalist and presenter Gesa Dankwerth and lives in Cologne.

From May to November 2010 he joined the team of ski jumpers at the German Ski Association as an assistant coach , but was dismissed in November 2010 due to internal problems. From 2009 to 2013 Nölke worked as a consultant and juror in various ski jumping TV productions such as "Tomtesterom" and "Vgende Hollanders - Sterren van de Schans". In his lectures and seminars today he deals with topics such as stress management, fear and courage, motivation and performance.
