Avanti Air is a German charter airline based in Burbach at Siegerland Airport and based at Paderborn Airport .

history

Avanti Air was founded in 1994 by pilots Markus Baumann and Stefan Kissinger, who have been running the company to this day. In 1996 the charter flight was started with a Beechcraft 1900 .

In 2000 Avanti Air moved from their previous base Frankfurt airport to airport Siegerland to where society today its offices and a hangar maintains. Two years later, the first ATR machine was put into service, and in June 2010 two ATR 42-500s, which have since been phased out, were taken over by Eurowings .

In March 2010 Avanti Air received the IOSA safety certificate, which confirms compliance with the IATA operational safety standards .

By summer 2014, Avanti Air retired two of its three ATR 72-200s . In October of the same year, two Fokker 100s were taken over by OLT Express , offering aircraft leasing and charter flights with jets for the first time . In addition, a new color scheme and a new company logo were introduced. The last ATR 72 was then withdrawn at the end of 2015.

At the beginning of 2016, the second Fokker 100 with the registration D-AGPH was floated in. Since April 2016, Avanti Air has been operating a Fokker 100 up to 6 flights a day between Paris-Orly and Tarbes-Lourdes on behalf of HOP! by. One Fokker 100 has been stationed in Innsbruck every summer since 2017 . It operates flights to various destinations in the Mediterranean for the tour operator Idealtours .

On October 17, 2018, the Avanti Air Facebook page announced the addition of a third Fokker 100 with the registration D-AOLH, which was put into operation in December 2018.

In October 2019 it was announced that they were looking for a replacement for the aging Fokker 100, with the Embraer 190 being tested as a successor . The machines are to be replaced step by step, and the oldest machine with the registration D-AGPH has meanwhile been sold.

Avanti Air operates charter flights and also offers its aircraft to other airlines in wet lease .
