history

Air Omega was founded in 2001. After the company had transferred an Embraer EMB 120FC from the United States to Germany at the beginning of September 2002 , it received its air operator certificate on October 14 of the same year ; On November 4th, a second Embraer followed in a pure freight configuration and so the two machines were then used on Europe-wide freight flights , among others for Hellmann Worldwide Logistics . The separately newly founded British Air Omega UK , in contrast to its German sister company, was meanwhile operating in scheduled flights.

During its existence, however, between 2002 and 2004, Air Omega was embroiled in a breach of trust relating to Sparkasse Tirschenreuth (today Sparkasse Oberpfalz Nord ): three board members had negligently granted loans and some non-performing loans in over one hundred cases - including Air Omega: the latter After submitting manipulated flight contracts for the purpose of securing loans, had received extensive financial resources; Later savings bank statements described the process as "completely outside the applicable standards". Although the matter was only negotiated before the Regional Court of Regensburg in 2010 and Air Omega was confronted with a good order situation at the time, operations had to be discontinued in 2003 for the reasons mentioned above and the associated bankruptcy .
