history

The company was founded in 1995 as Avanti Aviation Aachen , based in Aachen . In 2000 the company headquarters was relocated to Düsseldorf and the company was renamed to its current name. In 2009 Triple Alpha became a member of the Ocean Sky Group, but remained as an independent company based in Düsseldorf.

1995-2000

In March 1995, Hans Pfeiffer and Erik Scheidt worked together for the first time to look after a Cessna Crusader C303 and two months later they founded Avanti Aviation Aachen Luftfahrtgesellschaft . In mid-1996 the license was granted as an aviation company by the AOC , and two Cessna Golden Eagles were added to the fleet. Other fleetings followed, such as a Cessna CitationJet C525 in September 1997 and a Piper Cheyenne IIIA six months later . In June 1998 a new station was founded in Mönchengladbach and the main business area was relocated to Düsseldorf. In the same year, a Cessna Conquest was purchased and a second CitationJet was put into service at the end of 1999. In April 2000 the company headquarters was relocated to Düsseldorf and the company was officially renamed 3A Triple Alpha Luftfahrt GmbH . The last turboprop aircraft was taken out of service by the middle of the year .

2001-2005

In June 2001 the first commercially registered Cessna CitationJet CJ2 was launched in Europe, but two older Citations left the fleet at the end of the year. In the following years, more aircraft were bought, including a Cessna Citation II C550 and a refurbished Cessna Citation V C560. At the end of 2005 a French registered Cessna CitationJet C525 was put into service in Paris in cooperation between the German Federal Aviation Authority and the French Aviation Authority.

2006-2010

In November 2006, Triple Alpha was awarded the contract to coordinate the construction of an Airbus A319 CJ from production to delivery. The fleet was now nine Cessna Citations. This was followed by other fleets, including a refurbished Cessna Citation III 650, a brand-new Bombardier Challenger 300 , a Bombardier Global Express , the first Cessna Citation Mustang in Europe, a brand- new Airbus A319 CJ and other Cessna CitationJets with locations in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, Paderborn and Dusseldorf. In November 2009, 3A Triple Alpha became a member of the English Ocean Sky Group, which was initially the majority shareholder with 60%. At the beginning of the following year a Gulfstream G150 was put into operation. At the end of 2010, Ocean Sky increased its stake in the company to 80%.

2011

In January 2011 an unsuccessful attempt was made to stop the decline with the fleet of the third medium-haul jet (Gulfstream G150). In July 2011 the company Triple Alpha had to file for bankruptcy.
