MHS Aviation is a German general aviation airline specializing in charter , based in Oberhaching near Munich and based at both Munich Airport and Oberpfaffenhofen special airport . According to its own statements, after more than four decades it is one of the oldest providers of business charter flights in Europe.

history

The company was founded in 1977 as Munich Helicopter Service (MHS).

With the purchase of the company by Gerd Brandecker among others in 2009, the gradual changeover to business aircraft took place. The spectrum has been expanded to include fixed-wing aircraft, from the four-seater jet to the Bombardier Global Express with transatlantic range. The 20-machine fleet also includes seven regional aircraft. In November 2013, MHS Aviation took over the Dornier 328 in its own Air Operator's Certificate as part of a cooperation with the Swiss Sky Work Airlines and now operates it for Sky Work Airlines. MHS Aviation already operates several machines of this type. In October 2019, MHS Aviation became the first German business aviation operator to add an Embraer Praetor 600 midsize business jet to its fleet. The company has also been operating 2 Gulfstream G550s since 2020.

Services

In addition to charter flights for worldwide business aviation , scheduled flights within Germany are also operated. In addition to aircraft management, MHS Aviation offers part-NCC operations as well as aircraft leasing and charter flights.

The route is now served by Dornier 328-110 from Monday to Friday. Since October 14, 2014, the Hamburg – Mannheim route has also been served by a Dornier 328 from Monday to Friday. Incidents

The affected Challenger D-AMSC (2013).

On 7 January 2017, resulted in wake of a flying at cruising altitude Airbus A380-800 of the Emirates that a 300-meter low flying in the opposite direction Bombardier Challenger 604 three to five times rotated around its longitudinal axis. Several passengers were injured and had to be hospitalized. The pilots temporarily lost control of the aircraft and were only able to intercept it 2700 meters lower and finally land safely and externally undamaged.
