Abacus Air was a German airline based in Hanover .
History and destinations
Abacus Air was founded in Frankfurt in 1974 as Abacus Air Luftverkehrsgesellschaft and although the company subsequently operated on business flights for a decade, it finally moved to Hanover in the spring of 1984. This was also accompanied by the entry into scheduled air traffic; Using a Cessna 500 and a Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner II, Abacus Air connected the airports of Hanover and Cologne / Bonn as well as Cologne / Bonn and Amsterdam on weekdays . The Metroliner was later replaced by a Fairchild Swearingen Merlin IV. However, being satisfied with the utilization of the aircraft, the company was never able to achieve the hoped-for success. In 1985 the company ceased operations, and although the company was renamed Abacus Air Business Travel in 1991 , it was not mentioned afterwards. As a result, the liquidation was initiated in 1998 .
