Dauair (Dauair AG) was a German regional airline based in Lübeck and based at Dortmund Airport . Its flight operations took place between April 18, 2005 and August 16, 2006.

history

The company was founded in 2003 by the aerospace engineer, Hans-Jörg Dau. The first flight took place on April 18, 2005. Most recently, three Saab 340B turboprop aircraft and two smaller Fairchild Metro turboprop aircraft leased from FLM Aviation were deployed . The 19-seat Fairchild Metro was used on the lower-volume routes Dortmund– Berlin / Tempelhof , Stuttgart– Posen and Paderborn / Lippstadt – Stuttgart.

The Luftfahrt-Bundesamt suspended Dauair AG's approval as an aviation company on August 9, 2006 because the company had not proven the legal requirements. Allegedly, the flight license was withdrawn due to financial problems, but this was contradicted by durair. An appeal by the company to the administrative court on August 10th was successful and the flight permit was granted again for the time being. Even before the court could decide again, Dauair AG had submitted the application to open insolvency proceedings at the local court on August 16, 2006, and flight operations were also suspended on that day. The bankruptcy proceedings were opened on November 1, 2006.
