history

Foundation and first years

Sunexpress Germany was founded as a limited liability company on June 8, 2011 as a subsidiary of Sunexpress and started flight operations with three Boeing 737-800s . It was founded in order to be able to fly from there to the Red Sea with the help of the German AOC . These routes were first operated on November 2, 2011. In July 2013, two more 737-800s were added to the fleet, which were stationed at Cologne / Bonn Airport. In spring 2012 the seat of was Kelsterbach in the Gateway Gardens laid.

Wings concept

Sunexpress Deutschland operated up to seven Airbus A330-200s for Eurowings' long-haul service in the Wings concept .

On June 23, 2020, Sunexpress announced that the German operation should be liquidated in an orderly manner. Ch-aviation has reported Sunexpress Germany as out-of-business since June 2020 .

Destinations

Sunexpress Germany flew from several German airports, mainly in charter traffic, primarily to the holiday regions of Turkey , Canary Islands and the Red Sea .
