German Sky Airlines was a German airline based in Düsseldorf and a sister company of Sky Airlines . The company ceased flight operations on December 1, 2012.

history

German Sky Airlines was founded in 2004 in Düsseldorf as a travel agent. In August 2010 she took over her first own aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 . In November 2010 the airline received an operating license from the Federal Aviation Authority . The company belonged to the Turkish tourism group Kayi Group , which also operated independently of the German company Sky Airlines in Turkey . In 2011 German Sky Airlines received its second aircraft from the Turkish Sky Airlines.

In winter 2012/13, all flights were suspended and the aircraft were returned to the lessor. Due to the bankruptcy of the Turkish parent company in June 2013, a restart of operations seems unlikely.
