BHS Aviation was founded in 2008 as BHS Helicopter Service established and wraps since then with two helicopters of the type Airbus Helicopters H135 and AgustaWestland AW109SP the traffic for the approximately 14 German branches of the international automotive supplier Brose from.

In 2016, a cooperation with DC Aviation based in Stuttgart was agreed. The offer from BHS Aviation thus includes commercial passenger transport to the Bamberg, Stuttgart and Zurich locations . As part of the partnership, DC Aviation's operating license was extended to include the commercial use of helicopters.

Since 2018, BHS Aviation pilots have been authorized to fly to mountain airfields in Switzerland through certificates from the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation (FOCA) . These are landing sites outside of airfields and without infrastructure, which are over 1100 meters above sea level and are used for passenger transport for tourist purposes, according to the definition of the FOCA.

After the takeover of DC Aviation Switzerland AG in May 2019, it will operate as BHS Aviation AG from October 1, 2019, and BHS Helicopterservice as BHS Aviation GmbH. Four helicopters are therefore in use from the Bamberg ( Germany ) and Zurich ( Switzerland ) locations .
