Hamburg Airways (actually HHA Hamburg Airways Luftverkehrsgesellschaft mbH ) was a German airline based in Hamburg and based at Hamburg Airport . In addition to charter flights, she was also active in scheduled services. On December 22nd, 2014, the Hamburg Airways AOC was suspended. Hamburg Airways filed for bankruptcy on January 12, 2015. The insolvency proceedings against the assets of Hamburg Airways were opened on February 26, 2015.

Hamburg Airways was founded in December 2010 and emerged as the successor company from the insolvent Hamburg International . On March 28, 2011, the Federal Aviation Office granted the airline its operating license. The first flight took place on March 30, 2011 on the route from Hanover to Aqaba .

At the beginning of 2012, Hamburg Airways had to replace its newly introduced logo again because of a complaint from Cathay Pacific about the similarity to their logo. In May 2012 the company carried out the IOSA certification audit of the IATA and received the corresponding certificate on June 25, 2012.

In December 2014, the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt Hamburg Airways withdrew the operating license, which resulted in flight operations being suspended. On January 12, 2015, the company finally filed for insolvency at the Hamburg District Court . On February 26, 2015, insolvency proceedings were opened against the assets of Hamburg Airways .

Hamburg Airways regularly operated charter flights to holiday destinations in Europe, for example Heraklion , Palma , Birmingham and Tenerife . It was also possible to fly to Moscow from Braunschweig-Wolfsburg airport . In the spring of 2013 Hamburg Airways flew temporarily for REWE Touristik / ITS to Palma de Mallorca Airport from Kassel-Calden at. While scheduled flights to Kiev , among others , were also offered from May 2012 , in 2014 only flights from Düsseldorf to Kustanay could be booked.
