history

On May 1, 1901, the two lawyers J. DuPratt White and George B. Case founded the law firm White & Case at the age of 31 and 28, respectively. They invested $ 250  each . While Case had graduated from Columbia Law School, White had only studied at a law firm. Both had the same vision of a global law firm. In the decades that followed, the firm grew into an international consulting firm with offices in 28 countries around the world.

The roots of the German branches of White & Case go back to the law firm Scherzberg & Undritz founded on April 16, 1858 in Hamburg . The law firm gradually merged with various local law firms, especially in the course of the 1990s, to form the large supra-local law firm Feddersen Laule Ewerwahn Scherzberg Finkelnburg Clemm. In 2000, Feddersen Laule Ewerwahn Scherzberg Finkelnburg Clemm merged with White & Case. Until 2004 the law firm operated under the name White & Case, Feddersen in Germany.
